About the Artist

Marsha Carter Davis
Painter
Exploring landscapes through the process of painting is endlessly fascinating and challenging to me, and Montana's vast dramatic skies, sculptural mountain ranges, and abundant bird and animal life are a constant inspiration. Through my landscapes, I seek to bring the viewer feelings of joy, freedom, and peace and to help promote the protection of the natural world. Through my animal portraits, I seek to honor and celebrate our loyal and loving companions.
My serious study of painting and the creative process began in high school with the inspiration and support of my artistic family, teachers, and friends and under the nurturing instruction of gifted painter and studio art teacher David Glasser of Holton-Arms school. I later earned a B.A. in Art from The University of Washington and also studied drawing and painting at The Maryland Institute College of Art and The University of Montana. I am deeply blessed to live in Montana with and to be inspired by my creative and encouraging husband, son, daughter, grand children, and animal companions!
My paintings and note cards can be found at Birds & Beasleys and Aunt Bonnie's Books in Helena, MT and at Crazy Mountain Outdoor Company in Bozeman, MT. Contributions of paintings, notecards, or prints are available to local environmental, animal welfare, and community health care fundraisers.
